The Offside Rule - Explained for Women

You're in a shoe shop, second in the check-out line for the sales register. Behind the saleslady on the display is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you absolutely must have.

The female shopper in front of you has seen them and is also eyeing them with desire.

Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be totally rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes.

The sales clerk remains at the register, waiting.

Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma.

She prepares to throw her purse to you.

If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes.

In a pinch, she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and, while it is in flight you could slip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes.

Always remember that until the purse has actually been thrown, it would be just plain wrong to be forward of the other shopper.

A Soccer Parenting Thought For The Day

A mother was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her teenage son. Suddenly, the boy bursts into the kitchen.

"Careful! CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my goodness!

You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my! WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They're going to STICK!

Careful! ... CAREFUL! I said be CAREFUL!

You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you CRAZY?

Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt. USE THE SALT! THE SALT!"

The mother stared at him. "What's wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?"

The son calmly replied, "I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm trying to play soccer.

To Do Today: Please forgive your parents - we know not what we do!

Thought from Claudio Reyna, US World Cup Captain,

“For some reason, adults – some who can’t even kick a ball – think it’s perfectly okay to scream at children while they’re playing soccer.

How normal would it seem if a mother gave a six-year-old some crayons and a coloring book and started screaming?

“Use the red crayon! Stay in the lines! Don’t use yellow!”

"You think that child would develop a passion for drawing?"

"Most important, parents must realize that playing sports is a way for children to express themselves.”
