TO: Head Boys and Girls Soccer Coaches

FROM: Jeff Sentell, The Birmingham News

NEWS FAX NUMBER: (205) 325-2425

It’s time to fill out your postseason questionnaires. The News needs your help to compile its All-State and All-Metro teams, along with the information necessary to name its Alabama State Soccer Players of the Year.

Please note the strength of the info you provide (stats, all-region, college offers/signings) is essential to the chances of your athletes making those postseason all-metro or all-state teams and any player of the year honors.

If you have a player that deserves Player of the Year recognition, please let me know. It’s like voting, if you don’t speak up you lose the right to question the results. I try to get as many perspectives as possible to help our newspaper make these tough choices.

There are two ways to get these forms back: 1) Copy this MS Word document to desktop. Fill it out. Save under a new file name that’s relevant to your school. E-mail back. 2) Fax back to the News at (205) 325-2425.

Please get this back to me by May 30th. Our All-Metro and All-State packages will publish in early June. If you have any questions, please call me at (205) 532-4243 or drop me an e-mail at jsentell@bhamnews.com

Thanks for your help in this tireless work.

Best regards,

Jeff Sentell

Note: Head coaches can download the Birmingham News All-State and All-Metro Soccer Ballots here.  If you have any problems please email Ken at dsports@hiwaay.net and we will work out a means to get a copy to you.  Remember the deadline is May 30th, 2008. Ballots may only be submitted by head coaches.
