New Soccer Alignments?
Several of you have noted that
AHSAA's new
website shows new alignments and, in fact,
shows different alignments in several different
places on the website. Some schools are shown in
different sections than they should be.
We contacted the folks at AHSAA and the new alignments
shown are a mistake made in their migration from
the old website to the new website.
AHSAA is continuing to update the new website and has
said that their alignment lists are incorrect
but will be updated. The revised alignments list which is
what is on the coaches' website and
also shown
on the AHSAA website here is still correct.

Each head coach shall

NFHS
Announces Rules Changes for 2008-09
Effective with the 2008-09 high school soccer
season, players will be penalized (yellow card) for
subsequent violations of illegal equipment rules.
A change in the penalty for illegally equipped
players was one of three rules revisions approved by
the National Federation of State High School
Associations (NFHS) Soccer Rules Committee at its
annual meeting January 27-28 in Indianapolis. The
rules changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS
Board of Directors.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Alabama High School Soccer

the best opportunities for success and to give those
student athletes and coaches a voice in the

Joe Carter, Mike Fricke, Ken Gamble, Mac Matthews,

central location. A place and date for future
